Forest Park GEARSCity of Forest Park joins GEARS

Program improves traffic safety, cuts costs and delivers convenience for motorists

Forest Park is the latest department to join the state’s GEARS (Georgia Electronic Accident Reporting System) program. The move will lead to more cost effective, timely and accurate filing of crash reports in Forest Park , while at the same time providing easy online access to those reports for involved parties. With GEARS, safety officials can pinpoint problem areas and take action to improve road safety in those areas.

Main Street Redevelopment
Phase I of the LCI Main Street Downtown Streetscape Project has been completed. The project consisted of constructing brick paver handicap accessible sidewalks, landscaping, bicycle racks, trash receptacles, benches, and decorative pedestrian lighting on Main Street. The realignment of College/Ash/Main Street is the location for the new Town Center complete with a water fountain and town clock. This project is the catalyst for the overall redevelopment of Main Street.

Phase II of the Main Street Streetscape project, which will terminate at Highway 54 (Jonesboro Road) is in the engineering phase.

The Recycling Center
continues to be open for your convenience Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until noon. You may bring paper goods including newspaper, magazines, phone books, and cardboard as well as metals, plastics, aluminum, and appliances. If you do not want to put your small yard debris in the paper recycle bags, you may always bring them and your longer limbs (limited no bigger in diameter than 4” and one pickup truck load) to the Recycling Center free.
