CORPORATE CHALLENGE
October 9, 16, 23, 28, 2006
Activities: Coed Softball, Coed Volleyball, Swimming, 5K Road Walk, Obstacle Course
We invite all corporations to compete in this team building experience. The corporate challenge is corporate teams competing over four (4) nights in October for the right to be called Champions. Also, this event will promote team building health and fitness in the work place. Each company must have a team of ten to compete over the four nights. A schedule of events will be posted one (1) month prior to competition.

CREATIVE ART & CRAFTS CLASSES
Senior and adult classes will combine music with different concepts of art for all ages. The instructor will provide the necessary tools for class, unless otherwise noted. The classes will work with fabrics, woodcrafts, paper, clay, and paints. The classes will run for four (4) weeks and meet at Community Building #1 as follows: Teens – Thursday, October 5, 5pm-6pm. Kids – Friday, October 6, 4pm-5pm. Fee: $20 . Classes start over the first Thursday and Friday of the month. Instructor: Sonja Bateman.

CHESS CLUB
Join the Chess Club! Come and stimulate your mind. Forest Park Chess Club is for beginners to advanced players. Ages 13 years and over. BEGINNERS' SEWING CLASS
A beginner's sewing class is being offered at the Recreation Center . The class covers basic machine operation, zippers and buttonholes applications and advice on patterns, fabric selection and more. Yoga is a program with emphasis on health for the body, mind and emotional well being. Simple movements suitable for any fitness level are designed to bring body to peak performance, relieve stress and uplift mood. Ages 18 and over.
HAWAIIAN/HULA CLASS
This is a fun class geared toward teaching not only basics, but steps to popular dances like Pearly Shells, Tiny Bubbles (small children). The Hukilay and Little Brown Gal (ages 10-15), Aloha Week Hula and I am Hawaii (16-22), Lovely Hula Hands and Blue Hawaii (women). Beginners steps for Tahitian or Polynesian will be included, choreography for at least two Tahitian songs like The Hawaii Five-O and Bora-Bora. At the end of the course all classes can be organized to perform a program to show their skills. Class Date: September 11, 2006. Class Time: 6pm-7pm Fee: $20/residents, $30/nonresidents monthly. HOME SAFETY
A Home Safety class will be offered as a public service. A Forest Park Police Officer will conduct the one-hour session in the dining room of the Recreation Center . Loosen up those muscles at Forest Park Recreation Center. SWIM FOR FUN
Our swim for fun program meets on Tuesday and Thursday in the indoor pool at the Recreation Building 1:30pm-2:30pm. Cost: $1. You may swim laps, float around, or just get in and talk. But you must be 55 years or older to participate.
WELLNESS WALK
The Recreation and Leisure Services Department and the Clayton County Health Department have joined hands and developed a Wellness Walk that connects the Health Department, Georgia Avenue Park and City Hall in the promotion of HEALTH. As you journey the walkways, Health Promotion messages have been incorporated along the way. JOIN IN AND WALK FOR YOUR HEALTH.
SPRING FITNESS
What better way to jump start your morning than to join our Monthly Fitness Class? This class will meet 8am-9am on Tuesday and Thursday. The class will include 30 minutes of fitness walking and 30 minutes of weight training instruction. Come and get fit! Cost: $15 monthly. Class Dates: March 7, April 4, and May 2, 2006. OUTDOOR BOOT CAMP
Only those absolutely serious about weight loss need to sign up for this non-stop super circuit class. This outdoor experience is intense from beginning to end and guaranteed to give you the results that you want. Includes ultimate boot camp manual and exercise logs, nutritional counseling, program monitoring, email support, and goal setting. Ready, Set, Go! Individuals young and old, fast and slow make tracks through the streets of Forest Park . The finishers in each category proudly display t-shirts and other awards.
