Forest Park, Georgia, to commit a portion of General Fund

Balance, in accordance with Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) 54; to provide for severability; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: The City is required to formally “commit” (reserve) a portion of the General Fund Balance for certain activities, in accordance with an accounting standard that has been passed by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The Ordinance commits $2,000 that has been transferred to establish a bank account for the Tax Allocation District (TAD). This has been the only activity for the TAD at this time.
