SUMMARY
AND BACKGROUND: The purpose of accepting this no-match grant
from the Clorox Company is to place Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) in the City Recreational Gym and all public schools
in the City. The purpose of the AED’s is to allow bystanders to initiate cardiac care
measures prior to the arrival of Paramedic/EMT personnel thus increasing the
change of survival of citizenry.

Consider a Resolution requesting authorization for the City
of Forest Park to apply to the
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for Transportation Enhancement
Funding for transportation improvements at the State Farmers Market
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: This Resolution is requesting
authorization to apply to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for
$1,000,000 in Transportation Enhancement funding with a local match of $250,000
(local matching funds will be provided in the form of bond proceeds generated
from activities at the State Farmers Market) for transportation
improvements at the State Farmers Market.
The project would implement enhancements identified in the
transportation study. The improvements
would improve pedestrian traffic at the State Farmers Market and include
sidewalks, signage, landscaping, trees, lighting, improved drainage, pedestrian
crossing improvements, parking and handicap access improvements, etc.

Consider
a Resolution to regulate and to provide for the
calling
of an Election to determine the Exercise or Non-Exercise of Redevelopment
Powers by the City of Forest Park under Chapter 44 of Title 36 of the Official
Code of Georgia Annotated, the “Georgia Redevelopment Powers Law,” as amended,
in accordance with 2007 Georgia House Bill 635; to rescind conflicting
resolutions; and for other purposes
