SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
The Forest Park Fire Department is joining the fight against
neuromuscular disease with a boot drive August 17th & 19th. In order to highlight the contributions of
the Forest Park Fire Department, Ms. Shelly Swannack,
District Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association has requested the Mayor

BACKGROUND: The south side of Patricia Drive
between Dorsey Drive and Shellnut Drive has a deep
drainage ditch that is in need of piping.

in the amount of $3887.00 to cover the costs of materials for the completion of

Park, Georgia, to provide for an amendment to the Franchise granted to the
Georgia Power Company by an Ordinance adopted on or about March 1, 1976, so as
to specify certain terms and conditions for the relocation, upon the request or
demand of the City, of Georgia Power Company’s Distribution Facilities from
their existing locations within or upon the City’s Streets, right-of-ways,
alleys and other public places of the City; to provide for an extension of the
term of the Franchise to March 11, 2031; to provide for severability; to repeal
all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an
effective date; and for other purposes
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance provides for two amendments to the 1976 franchise granted
to Georgia Power Company for the use of the City’s streets, right- of- ways,
alleyways, etc. One amendment provides for terms under which Georgia Power can
be required to relocate its distribution facilities by the City, and the other
provides for an extension of the franchise to
