1.   Consider an Ordinance to amend the Charter of the City of Forest Park, Georgia, Section 5-11 pertaining to changing of Wards; to reflect results of 2010 Census; to provide for severability; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances and Resolutions in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes       (Second Reading)

 

2.  Consider an Ordinance by the City of Forest Park, Georgia, to amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Forest Park, Georgia, specifically Title 2, Chapter 1, Article F, payment of Travel Expenses for Mayor and Council in its entirety, so as to clarify and specify reimbursable travel and accommodation expenses; to provide for a per diem; to provide for severability; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

           

3.    Consider a Resolution by the City Council of the City of

      Forest Park declaring certain City property listed on Exhibit A, to be surplus property and to provide for its proper disposal either by auction or other methods pursuant to the City’s Ordinances; and for other purposes

 

4.    Consider a Resolution confirming the City of Forest Park’s commitment to the implementation of a Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) project(s) and the required local match

 

      SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND; The Atlanta Regional Commission is now accepting applications for Livable Centers Initiative Transportation funds.  The funding is available to Sponsors who have completed and approved an LCI study and are seeking funding for a project identified on their LCI 5-year action plan.

 

      The City of Forest Park is applying for implementation funding for two projects in the 5-year action plan.  This resolution is requesting Mayor and Council to confirm the City of Forest Park’s commitment to the implementation of the projects and to the required twenty (20) percent local match.

 

5.    Consider a Resolution to adopt the Implementation updates to the City of Forest Park Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) 5-year action plan

 

      SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: The Livable Centers Initiative is a program that encourages local governments to create plans that link transportation improvements with land use development strategies to create a mixed use community consistent with regional development policies.  Each completed LCI report includes an implementation strategy with a specific 5-year action plan that outlines activities to be completed in implementing the LCI plan.

 

      The City of Forest Park was awarded funds for an LCI study in 2001.  The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) requires LCI plans to be updated every five (5) years to evaluate progress to date.

 

      This resolution requests the Mayor and City Council to adopt the updates to the City of Forest Park 5-year LCI action plan.
