VIII.   Open Public Hearing to receive comments on the proposed millage rate

 

                        SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:  This is the third public                                hearing required to receive comments on the proposed millage                                  rate.  The current millage rate is 12.343 mills, the proposed                                    millage rate is 13.343 mills.

X.                 Agenda Items

 

 

1.   Consider an Ordinance by the City Council of the City of   

      Forest Park to establish the final ad valorem tax millage rate for the City of Forest Park, Georgia to provide for severability; and for other purposes

 

2.      Consider an Ordinance by the City Council of the City of               Forest Park authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with the Department of Justice for an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, 2010-DJ-BX-1105 Award Year 2010 in the amount of twenty three thousand four hundred and ninety one dollars ($23,491) to be added into the budget of the Police Department; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

3.      Consider an Ordinance by the City Council for the City of

      Forest Park, Georgia, to appropriate additional funds in the amount o $72,030.00 to cover the approved funding of the “Keep Forest Park Beautiful” Program; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

                              SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:  An appropriation is needed to cover operating costs of the newly formed Keep Forest Park Beautiful program. The amount in the original budget was to cover a portion of the costs of the former Keep Clayton County Beautiful program. Since the program is now for the benefit of the City of Forest Park, additional funding is needed to support its operations.
