REGULAR MEETING OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF FEBRUARY 15, 2010
Call to Order: The Regular Meeting of Mayor and Council of February 15, 2010 was called to order by Mayor Corine Deyton at 7:10 p.m.
Invocation: The invocation was given by Councilwoman Maudie McCord followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.
Present: Mayor Corine Deyton, Mayor Pro-tem Sparkle Adams, Councilman Donald Judson and Councilwomen Maudie McCord, Linda Lord and Karen-Brandee Williams.
Also present were City Manager John Parker, Director of Finance Mike Blandenburg, Director of Public Works Mike Gippert, Director of Planning, Building and Zoning Steve Pearson, Director of Support Services Christine Terrell, Deputy Director of Recreation and Leisure Services Sharon Smith, Chief Dwayne Hobbs, Major Chris Matson, Chief Eddie Buckholts, Management Analyst Angela Redding and City Attorneys Robert Mack and Joe Harris.
Approval of minutes: Ms. Adams made a motion to approve the minutes of the Work Session of February 1st with the necessary correction on the second page and the minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 1st, seconded by Ms. Lord. Voting for the motion was unanimous.
Comment Period: None
Ordinance: Request was made to consider an Ordinance by the City Council
Alarms and False for the City of Forest Park, Georgia, to amend Title 4 of the Code
Alarms: of Ordinances of the City by adding a new Chapter thereto to be known as Chapter 4, so as to govern and regulate alarms, false alarms, and alarm systems in the City; to repeal Section 4-1-8 and Section 11-1-36 of the City code pertaining to alarms and alarm systems; to provide for severability; to repeal all other Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes.
Ms. Adams made a motion to table this Ordinance for further information, seconded by Ms. McCord. Voting for the motion was unanimous.
Ordinance - Request was made to consider an Ordinance by the City Council
Moratorium for the City of Forest Park, Georgia, to extend the Moratorium on
Adult Permits for adult entertainment establishments originally provided
Entertainment for in Ordinance Number 09-63; to provide for severability; to
Permits: repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes.
Ms. Lord made a motion to approve the Ordinance, seconded by Ms. Adams. Voting for the motion was unanimous.
Resolution - Request was made to consider a Resolution by the City Council
Surplus of the City of
Property: listed on Exhibit A, to be surplus property and
to provide for its proper disposal either by
auction or other methods pursuant to the City’s Ordinances;
and for other purposes.
Ms. Adams made a motion to approve the Resolution, seconded by Ms. Williams. Voting for the motion was unanimous.
Comments: Ms. Adams reminded everyone of the North side Homeowners meeting on Thursday, February 18th at 6:30 p.m. at the Police Department.
Adjournment: Ms. Lord made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Ms. Williams. Voting for the motion was unanimous.
