A regular meeting of the Forest Park/Fort Gillem Local
Redevelopment Authority was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the
Board Members: Sparkle Adams; Corine
Deyton; Donald Judson; Linda Lord; Maudie McCord, John Parker, and John
Westervelt.
Staff, Legal Counsel and
Others: Fred
Bryant, Executive Director; Joe Harris, City Attorney; Frank Barton, OEA; Phil
Browning, GMACC; Herb Wolverton, Fort Gillem BRAC Transition Coordinator; Joe
Plunkett, Hurt Norton; Forrest Robinson and David Welch, Forest Park
Development Partners LLC.
John
Westervelt called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. It was determined that a
quorum was present. The following matters were addressed:
Approval of Minutes: John
Parker made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 22nd and
November 17th meetings, seconded by Corine Deyton. The Board voted unanimously to
approve the minutes.
Chairman’s Announcements and
Comments:
John
Westervelt welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Executive Director’s Update:
The
LRA Executive Director continues to meet with the State Historic Preservation
Division and Army to continue discussions about Building 101 and other
buildings that may have potential for adaptive reuse. A draft Programmatic
Agreement should be available for review by the Board in January 2009.
Old Business:
None.
New Business:
The
LRA Board will conduct oral interviews with Matrix, Huntley and Burns and
McDonnell teams beginning at 5 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2008.
Peter
Madsen provided an update on the Fort Gillem Operating Plan project. The final
plan will be provided to the LRA the first week of December.
The
next regular meeting will be December 17, 2008, at 6:00 PM.

A motion was made by John Parker to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Maudie McCord. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
